Thank you so much for your interest in Gospel Community. Whether you have attended a service or family group or you are just checking us out online, we look forward to getting to know more about you, but first, here’s a little bit about us. 

We started during the summer of 2013 with 6 people in a living room, all with big dreams for Gospel Community and the city of Charleston. We simply wanted to see those who did not have faith in God, put their faith in God through Jesus [and still do!]. 

In January, 2014 we launched our first public service in James Simons Elementary. From January to August 2014, we met once a month in the school, and weekly in homes as Family Groups. Starting in September, 2014 we began meeting weekly in the school, while continuing in our deep desire to see Family Groups multiply and grow throughout the downtown and greater Charleston area. 

Our heart is for the Gospel to go forth in the city of Charleston and to the ends of the Earth. Some might think it is weird to have a global vision as a new church, but we don’t. We have this vision because it’s God’s vision. 

Additionally, our heart is for our Family Groups [our Community]. We believe that when you cross the line of Faith, you say yes to God and yes to God’s family. 

At this point you might be thinking, “Gospel + Community…that’s pretty simple”. It is our name, but is also our heart. 

Bottom line, we desire to see people CHANGED by the Gospel, brought into COMMUNITY because of the Gospel, and COMMISSIONED for the sake of the Gospel. 

Change. Community. Commission. 

This is the heart of God and this is what it means to be a disciple. As you stick around, we pray that you will not only experience the three C’s, but see God working out the three C’s in others.
